Anyone else willing to admit they’re at least 40% chocolate? I’m utterly addicted to the stuff. It doesn’t even need to be fancy, if it’s chocolate i’ll scoff it. Don’t get me wrong I love a posh bar of Montezuma as much as the next girl but I’m just as happy with a multi pack of freddos.

Obviously this love affair has certain drawbacks. For example my skin is rubbish and I’m at least 3 stone heavier than I’d like to be. If you’ve read my blog for a while you’ll know i’m trying to be a bit healthier myself and to help Luisa make good choices. Last year we made frozen Easter fruit popsΒ which she loved so I’ll be whipping those up again this year if we have good weather!

It’s not entirely a guilty pelasure though,Β A recent study found that dark chocolate helps restore flexibility to arteries while also preventing white blood cells from sticking to the walls of blood vessels – both common causes of artery clogging.

A Finnish study found that chocolate reduced stress in expectant mothers, and that the babies of such mothers smiled more often than the offspring of non-chocolate-eating parents.

Dark chocolate is packed with beneficial minerals such as potassium, zinc and selenium, and a 100g bar of dark (70 per cent or more) choc provides 67 per cent of the RDA of iron.

Anyway the point of this blog post is basically to unite chocolate lovers and have a little bit of a party. Below I’ve shared some of my favourite chocolate based recipes of all time, just click the images to view them and keep scrolling to get to that giveaway!
