I was tagged by Emily from Emily & Indiana to answer some Festive questions, I love this time of year but I’ve been so busy I need a little help getting into the spirit of it all so I’m hoping this will help. I also filmed a different Christmas Tag as part of Vlogmas too so I’ll stick that at the bottom for anyone who’s too lazy to read this.

What’s your favourite Christmas movie?

I think I give a different answer anytime someone asks this but probably the Grinch or Home Alone. I also really like Love Actually and The Holiday. Sap alert!

Have you ever had a white Christmas?

I don’t think I’ve had proper snow on Christmas Day, maybe just a skiff but I’ve had lots of snowy Decembers.

Where do you usually spend your holiday?

Nearly always at home in Northern Ireland. I’ve stayed in Edinburgh twice over Christmas due to work but I really missed my family. I ended up having pizza for Christmas dinner by myself!

What is your favourite Christmas song?

Again, this is another one that chops and changes. I love them all to be honest! This year I’ve had a playlist on repeat made by my friend Cat who blogs at Pushing The Moon. You can listen to the playlist here.

Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?

This was never a ‘thing’ in my family but it’s something Matts brood like to do. I’ve basically adopted it too and it’s always a fun way to kick the festivities off. Although this year we’re having a Christmas Eve party, spending Christmas Day at my mums and flying to New York on Boxing Day so we’ll probably open quite a few presents on Christmas Eve.

Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer?

No, absolutely no. Come back in two years when Luisa insists I learn them all.

Which holiday traditions are you looking forward to this year?

This year I’m excited for what will hopefully be a new tradition. We’re hosting a Christmas Eve party for both sides of the family. Matt’s looking forward to not having to drive around – alco and I’m just excited to see everyone. Both Matt and I have a brother living in England so it’ll be great to have the whole family together.

Is your Christmas tree real or fake?

Utterly fake! My tree is actually really old, my grandad bought it in Harrods about 30 years ago I believe and I’ve inherited it. I’m keen to get a real tree next year for the novelty but I’m not sure if I can handle the mess.

What is your all time favourite holiday treat/food/sweet?

Oh, that’s a tough one as I have a real sweet tooth! Probably all the chocolates – truffles specifically.

Be honest, do you like giving or receiving gifts better?

Honestly, receiving! Even before having Luisa I’ve always loved seeing people open their gifts and knowing I hit the nail on the head. Matt always jokes that I’m Santa in disguise because I like to boss organise my whole family to make sure everyone gets each other things they really want.

What is the best Christmas present you ever received?

Another really difficult question! My first proper camera from Matt has to be up there. I also got my first laptop from my parents in 2013 I believe.

What would be your dream place to visit for the holiday season?

I’m not sure I’d like to go away for Christmas itself but as I said this year we are flying to New York on the 26th which is pretty amazing.

Are you a pro present wrapper or do you fail miserably?

I have all these grand ideas and plans but then I end up wrapping for so many people I lose the will to live! Next year I’ll be more organised and all my wrapping dreams will be realised. Yeah right…

Most memorable Christmas moment?

Oh, flip I don’t know. Last year was ace seeing everyone dote on Luisa amongst all the wrapping and twinkly lights. Christmas with kids is amazing and I’m sure it gets better every year.

What made you realise the truth about Santa?

I’m not sure there was a specific moment, to be honest, It was a gradual thing and really not a big deal.

What makes the holidays special for you?

Family and food!

Okay! Well I hope you enjoyed that and you’re feeling suitably festive. As I said you can also watch my video below which is another Christmas tag with mostly different questions.

I’d like to tag a few more bloggers to share their answers too, check out the links below so you can read their answers.
