If you’ve been hiding under a rock for the last month you might not know that the 7th Star Wars film ‘The Force Awakens’ has opened in cinemas this week. We’re going to see the film with my brothers this week and I’m really looking forward to it. The appeal of the franchise transcends age and gender – I really don’t think there is such a thing as a typical Star Wars fan. The mass appeal is definately evident when you go into any high street store and see the sheer volume of Star Wars clothing, home furnishings and accessories available. Caught up in all the excitement I’m sharing my thoughts on how to create the ultimate Star Wars bedroom, or man-cave, or living room for that matter!

The first place I would start is with the soft furnishings such as bedding, cushions, rugs, curtains and blinds. There is no shortage to the options available on the highstreet and online. My favourite duvet covers are this reversible comic book style one from Argos and this reversible stormtrooper one from John Lewis. They would both look great in any little Jedi’s Star Wars bedroom.

Asda have a massive selection of Star Wars homewares at the minute, below are my top picks – just click on the image to shop them. Wether you’re a fan of the dark or the light side there is no shortage of lamps, cushions and posters for your room.

If you want to go all out on your Star Wars bedroom you’ll obviously be ordering a life sized Darth Vader bust from Forbidden Planet,

For those of you who are feeling a little more reserved VELUX have a new Galactic Night Collection of 4 amazing blinds released to celebrate the new movie. Thes designs have something for everyone featuring iconic scenes from movies past as well as the foreboding Kylo Ren from The Force Awakens.

The VELUX blinds offer total blackout so you’ll have the perfect environment for a good night’s sleep… or to play the new Battlefront game. One thing I think is really great about these blinds is that they are so striking you wouldn’t need to have any wall murals or imposing wall paper. Unless you’re a super fan that is.

Another place I love to look for interiors is Not on the Highstreet. I had a browse through their Star Wars collections and have picked out a few slightly offbeat items such as a vintage travel agent style Hoth poster and AT-AT concept art. As above just click on the photo to shop these items.

I hope you liked my Star Wars bedroom roundup, do you have any budding Jedi’s who’d like some of these items in their own rooms?

This was a collaborative post with VELUX. As always all opinions are my own.
