I never thought I’d be making a connection between elephant poo from Sri Lanka or rhino poo from a zoo in Devon and Christmas but I’m doing exactly that by working with Talk of the Town Parties showing you some beautiful eco-friendly Christmas cards this year.
The cards are designed and made in the UK by Scottish teacher, zoologist, mum and all-round wonder woman Jennifer Combes.
The cards are made from eco-friendly materials including elephant, rhino and reindeer poo. As if that doesn’t make you feel smug enough many of the designs are infused with seeds such as wildflowers of christmas trees so you can give back to the environment all over again by growing something pretty from the cards.
The quality of the card is fantastic, I was a little worried it would be flimsy but it’s strong meaning the cards sit up well and have a high-end look & feel. All the cards come with pretty brown envelopes and are beautifully packaged. There are lots of different designs available to suit a variety of tastes from the more traditional to rhinos masquerading as reindeers.
There are also some lovely personalised letters from Santa that I think would make a nice keepsake. If you like the idea of these sustainable cards you’ll be happy to hear that you can also buy greeting cards, party invites, prints and wedding invitations.
All in I think these cards are lovely and really good value for money. Single seed infused cards start at £2.50 and there are packs of 5 available for £6. I’m looking forward to sending them to friends and family this year and am glad to know that they won’t end up in the bin in January for a change.
