Bookish bloggers is back in action with a fab post featuring one of my best buddies Beth who blogs at Twinderelmo. As you might have guessed, Beth has twin girls as well as an older son. Her family lives in Shropshire and can always be counted on for amusing tales of twin related mischief.     What kinds of books are your favourite? Trashy? Mystery? Classics? I love a good autobiography as I am really nosey! I do find it fascinating to find out about people’s lives and when they overcome huge things, such as Katie Piper. Her story is very inspiring.   What is the last book you read? I am very VERY late to the party, but I’ve just finished reading all the Harry Potter books. I started by reading them to Charlie, then found myself nabbing them for myself. I had never read the books but seen…

Todays Bookish Blogger is a dear friend and inspiring woman Amie of Finding Our Feet. Amie is an absolute powerhouse if you ask me. She’s a working mama who handles the nursery run and London commute with a wry smile and a strong coffee. As well as writing about life as a young parent Amie heads up the #ParentsAtWork series, the Bloggers for Refugees initiative and is the Britmums Parents Under 30 editor. I told you she was impressive!     What kinds of books are your favourite? Trashy? Mystery? Classics? I think it’s easier to answer what type of books I don’t like… I’m not a big fantasy fan – I much prefer books that are based on reality, or are at least within the realms of possibility. I also don’t like supernatural stuff – ghosts for example. But vampires are fine. I enjoy stories about people basically, something…

So Bookish Bloggers has been on a bit of a hiatus – not for lack of willing participants! In fact, I’ve got some great submissions piled up I just lack the time and moral fibre to get them all scheduled. Hopefully the Christmas period will give me some time to get caught up as I really love these posts. Today we’re hearing from a good friend of mine Danielle who blogs at Someones Mum. Danielle is an ex-teacher and mum to two remarkable children. She writes about general parenting with a strong focus on issues facing parents of children on the autistic spectrum. Danielle is a skilled wordsmith, if you want to know more about her story I recommend the following posts: She writes about general parenting with a strong focus on issues facing parents of children on the autistic spectrum. Happy Wednesday! It’s time to meet another blogger who’s also a self confessed bookworm. Today we’re chatting to Chantelle from Mama Mummy Mum. Chantelle has four beautiful daughters and runs the fab Read With Me linky – a weekly collection of book reviews and general natter.     What kids books are your favourite? Having four children of different ages I get to read a lot of kids books lol. My favourites though, well I love anything by Julia Donaldson, I’m a huge fan of Jacqueline Wilson (getting to relive my childhood through my ten year old) and I can’t resist the Dinosaur that Pooped series.   What was the last book you read? I’ve just had to check back on my kindle to answer this as I read so many books (at least 3 a week), it was actually a book that I’m currently reviewing called Journey to the…

Welcome back to another instalment of Bookish Bloggers, by some miracle I’m actually posting two weeks in a row! Go me. Last week we spoke to Jade of Raising the Rings – be sure to check out her post if you haven’t already. This week on Bookish Bloggers we’re meeting Lisa from Mummascribbles. Lisa lives in hertfordshire with her partner and their son Zachary, she’s expecting baby number two in September.     What kind of books are your favourite? Trashy? Mystery? Classics? I am a sucker for a chick-lit! I mostly read on the train to work and quite often am rather tired from a broken night’s sleep and so I find chick-lits easier to read.  It doesn’t matter if I nod off half way through a chapter. That said, I am not really about trashy chick-lit. One of my favourite authors is Jane Green and whilst her books started…

Hello! Thanks for coming back to read another instalment of Bookish Bloggers. Sadly I haven’t been able to post weekly despite having 50+ bloggers waiting in the wings, I am just not organised enough! This week we’re meeting Jade from Raising the Rings. Jade is a mum to 2 young boys living in Norfolk. Her blog is totally delightful and I’m proud to call her one of my best buddies so you had better go and read her blog.     What kids of books are your favourite? Trashy? Mystery? Classics? I actually love reading lots of types of books but there are a few genres I’ll avoid. I’m not really into history books and even though I always say to myself that I’m going to read a classic, I never do. I love thrillers and mysteries. I love being sucked in to a good crime story too.   What…

Bookish Bloggers is back after and unscheduled break last week (oops) I was in Donegal and had no wifi so let a few things slide. If you’re not already familiar with this series you can check out the other posts here.     This week we’re chatting to Kate of LesBeMums. Kate lives in Brighton with her wife Sharon and their son T. T is 15 months old and has just learnt to walk <3 Their blog is one of my absolute favourite reads covering everything from breastfeeding to LGBT issues, weaning and musings about life with a toddler. Without further ado – over to Kate!     What kids of books are your favourite? Trashy? Mystery? Classics? I would definitely say that fantasy are my favourite kinds of books. Anything from Harry Potter to The Hunger Games, although I’m partial to the occasional autobiography or historical book.   What is…

Roll up, Roll up, I’ve got a new series on the blog. Welcome to the first instalment of Bookish Bloggers. Every Wednesday I’m going to publish an interview with a different blogger all about their reading habits. Don’t worry, it’s not a heavy affair. Judging by the responses so far it’s going to be really interesting. Hopefully we’ll all get some great recommendations and rediscover forgotten gems.   My guest for Bookish Bloggers this week is Chantal, bibliophile & Mum to one from Cambridgeshire. Chantal writes the very stylish and entertaining blog Milk & Nappies.     What kinds of books are your favourite? Trashy? Mystery? Classics? I love a whole range of books, and don’t tend to stick to one genre. I love a thriller – something that will keep me gripped the whole way through. At the moment though I’m trying to get stuck into some classics, which I’m enjoying a…
