This post was written by my dear friend, Harriet the powerhouse behind Toby & Roo. If you’re not familiar with Harriet, firstly, where have you been? And secondly, change that right now. Not only is she a witty and powerful writer she’s a genuine person and wonderful friend who’s always just a few taps on the cracked screen of my iPhone away. Gush gush. Anyway, today Harriet is sharing her thoughts on being a WAHM (Work at home mum) and dispelling a few myths. If you’re a WAHM i bet you’l be nodding along to this! If you’re not, spare…

I’ll start this off by saying up until a few weeks ago I would have wanted you to give me a swift kick in the shins if I was ever caught writing ‘an open letter’ or anything similar. No shade on anyone who’s a fan of that kind of thing, in fact some of my favourite posts from other bloggers start that way – it’s just not for me. Or at least it wasn’t. Anyway, here I am, personifying my blog. Dark days indeed. Dear Blog; It’s Not You, It’s Me. Me, Me, ME. You seem to have gotten a little…

Unless you’re new around here you’ll have heard of Alphabet Babies who kindly sponsored me to attend BritMums Live this year. A few months ago I introduced the company to you and shared a little about the director, Alexis Viswanathan. If you’d like a bit of a recap pop off and read that short post before we get stuck in here.     Alexis is a mum to twin boys; former teacher, company director, literacy advocate, bookworm and early years champion. Our conversations over the last months and the articles I’ve read about her have left me in awe. If I…

Last weekend as you know I attended Britmums Live, an annual blogging conference. I had a blast but that wasn’t all I got up to during my weekend in London. I thought I’d share some more about our trip and let you have a look at all photos – they’re mostly of food!     Matt, Luisa and I flew out from Belfast on the Friday morning and arrived in Luton unscathed around 11am. I actually find flying with a baby to be really easy, it’s not something to be anxious about in my opinion. If you’d like some tips…

This weekend your social media might have blow up a little bit with over 500 bloggers frantically tweeting about #BML16. Britmums Live is an annual conference for parenting bloggers to mingle, connect with brands and attend seminars. It’s a beast of an event that must take monumental planning to pull off. This year Britmums Live was held in The Brewery, a conference venue attached to The Montcalm hotel in London. The event was only for one day but I flew out on the Friday. I can’t thank my wonderful sponsor Alphabet Babies enough for this opportunity. You can find out more…

You might have seen I recently posted my bloggers wishlist sharing a few bits and pieces that I’m lusting after. The whole thing really just wet my appetite and got me thinking about what my dream office would be like. Something I really love about our house is that the attic has been converted into a useable space. Matt & I have claimed it as a grown up retreat. Currently it’s an office / second living room / bar. This setup works really well for us because the living room can be a mad space full of toys and fun things for Luisa…

I love blogging, I see it as an opportunity to learn, to share and to meet new people. A wonderful by-product is some fantastic opportunities for reviews, travel and even paid work. However, I have encountered a little problem. If I let it, blogging will cost me an absolute fortune. The more you learn the more tech you’re drawn to, the more successful your blog becomes the more courses you want to take and the more lovely people you meet the more conferences you’d love to attend. It can quickly snowball and lead to every spare minute and penny being spent honing…

I thought I’d update you all on a few bits of news I have, nothing earth shaking just a few new ventures and the like. When I started this blog it was just a place for me to natter on about my pregnancy and served as a tool to help me process impending motherhood. It quickly gave me more than I ever imagined; a community, true friends, wonderful opportunities and a chance to learn many new skills. Throughout my maternity leave this new online group on friends kept me sane, offered advice and provided a lot of laughs. Working on…

I’m so excited to finally be able to share my good news, the wonderful team at Alphabet Babies read my BritMums Live sponsorship plea and decided I sounded like their kind of gal. I’m thrilled to be attending BritMums Live (#BML16) and to have the opportunity to work closely with this brilliant company over the coming year.     If you aren’t a blogger you’re probably wondering what all the fuss is about. Who, or what, even is #BML16?! BritMums live is a huge blogging conference held every year in London. There are talks, workshops and seminars designed to help bloggers hone…
