As much as I love summer and all the fun it brings to my wardrobe I really embrace the colder months. Sure, I’ll moan about the rain like all good Brits but I love snuggly jumpers, dark evenings and hot spiced drinks. A/W ’17 is looking pretty extra to me with bold red outfits, slogan tees, amazing tights and over the top embellishments dominating the runways. Can I get a ‘hell yes’ for all of this?! I’m really trying to move towards a more minimalist capsule wardrobe so I’m chuffed that a lot of ‘what’s hot’ for the coming months…

*I was sent this PacaPod backpack in exchange for an honest review. Something I’ve struggled with ever since finding out I was pregnant is worrying that I look too ‘mumsy’. I think a lot of you will be able to relate to this, from day 1 I found that most maternity ranges were a bit mature for my taste. Whilst the clothes were really comfortable I felt like I was playing dress up in someone else’s wardrobe. Even now, whenever I shop for new clothes or try a new hairstyle I worry that I look drab or I’m just going for convenience…

I don’t know about you but being ‘plus-size’ (I hate that phrase but let’s not go there today) and having my confidence ravaged thanks to months in the house with a toddler and very few social engagements the thought of a ‘summer wardrobe’ doesn’t have me jumping for joy. But, as ever, I’m trying to get out of my head and comfort zone to make the most of the hot weather both here in the UK and on my holiday to Spain in August. I’ve been doing some shopping and I’ve started to pull together a little bit of a…

It’s 7.14am, you’ve just woken up but to be honest it could easily be 4 or even 11am, you’ve built up such a massive sleep debt that it doesn’t really make a difference anymore. If you’re lucky the mini dictator is still asleep and you can get to the bathroom, maybe even make a cup of tea before waking them up. Bleary-eyed you stand in the kitchen, greasy hair and crumpled pyjamas. Sigh. Another day begins.     Most people have a lot of time and understanding for new parents, the newborn days are simultanteously brutal and wonderful, at the…

You already know we love to travel, I firmly believe that it’s good for the soul and you shouldn’t let having kids hold you back. Show them the world instead of buying them all the stuff, at least that’s my motto. Luisa is one seriously well travelled toddler and we’ve learnt a lot on our various adventures. My packing is now pretty streamlined, Matt knows all the best airport car parking companies and we’ve got ‘go to’ activities and snacks for the flight.       I spoke to some other bloggers who’ve shared a little bit of their wisdom…

I’m embarrassed to admit I breastfeed. That might sound a bit suspect as if you’ve read my blog before you’ll know I’m a huge advocate of breastfeeding and have written about my experiences many times. Like most new Mums I started out with cautious anticipation, I hoped to be able to breastfeed Luisa. I didn’t know how long it would work out for but I was playing things by ear. As time went on we really had no problems, despite her low birthweight and emergency delivery she took to it like a pro. I wouldn’t say I’m #blessed but I…

Luisa will be two in May so it’s fair to say I’ve seen my fair share of ‘baby gear’. As a parent, every day is a school day and I still feel utterly unqualified but I have learnt a thing or two. I’ve written before about the products I feel are worth the money for your babies first year and the items I couldn’t travel without. Today I’m sharing some more wisdom to help parents save a whopping £884.     There’s nothing that makes a marketer happier that a couple expecting their first child. You’re feeling the weight of responsiblity,…

A very dear friend sent me a link to a Mumsnet thread this morning. It’s ten to 11 and I’ve been up since 7.30 having only got to bed at 3 thanks to my toddler who has her days and nights confused somehow. So it’s fair to say I’m in no mood to be fucked with. The thread in question was titled “AIBU to think we should encourage our daughters to ‘marry well’?” (AIBU stands for ‘Am I being unreasonable’) The question was raised by a lady who identifies as a strong feminist but feels like, from surveying her peers,…

Summer is coming and I am ready to embrace the warmer day and longer nights. I feel like Spring is a great motivator and this year I’m trying to switch up my beauty ‘regime’ a little.     I’m willing to bet I’m not the only mum who hasn’t shaved their legs in 4-6 months so the first step in my quest to be ‘summer ready’ is to loose the winter coat. We’re going to Spain in a few weeks and I’m planning to get a spray tan before we go so I need to be smooth first! As you…
