Review & Giveaway — HiPP Organic Porridge Pouches

As you’ll know if you’ve been hanging around here for a while Luisa and I are part of the HiPP Organic Wean Team. One of the perks of this gig is finding out about and trying new products before they hit the shelves.

On 1st June HiPP Organic will have a new line of porridge pouches on sale exclusively in Tesco, they’ll be available in Waitrose from June 13th. The porridge pouches are suitable from 6 months and come in 3 flavours; Pear, Apple & Apricot; Apple & Peach and Fruity Porridge.

As I said we’ve had the chance to try these porridge pouches out over the last few weeks. The first one Luisa tried was the pear, apple & apricot flavour. I have to be honest here she did not like it at all. Her displeasure was so strong I couldn’t even get one photo were she looked like she might be enjoying it. I’m not sure why she didn’t like it to be honest. I think maybe the apricot was a bit of a new flavour for her because I gave her the same flavour the next week and she enjoyed it then.

Not being one to give up easily I offered her the fruity porridge a few days later. This went much better, thankfully! Here’s a little clip of her enjoying her breakfast.

As you can see she loves to hold the spoon herself so when she’s having one of the pouches or a yogurt I usually feed her a few spoonfuls then let her have a go and the offer her some more. She gets frustrated when you don’t let her be independent.

If your kiddo is a bit older there’s also two new cereals coming out on June 1st, HiPP Organic Fruity O’s and Fruity Muesli with crispy ducks. Both are suitable from 15 months so Lu will have to hold her horses for a while yet. These new cereals from HiPP contain no added sugar and, as you’d expect from the brand, are made with organic fruit and multigrains.
